As the anniversary year of M. K. Čiurlionis drew to a close, the acclaimed album "sea in the forest" has been released on vinyl, featuring compositions inspired by the music of M. K. Čiurlionis.

Music critics have called “sea in the forest” one of the deepest and boldest interpretations of M. K. Čiurlionis’s music. It is symbolic that this project by L. Mockūnas and P. Geniušas was born in 2011, marking the 100th anniversary of M. K. Čiurlionis’ death, and has been reborn in a new format in the context of the 150th anniversary of his birth. 

By delving into his world of ideas, they transcend the traditional categories of recomposition and improvisation. Key motifs and themes — recognizable Čiurlionis-esque symbols — are developed according to new principles; musical ideas grow into clear, transparent structures whose final form is determined more by an intuitive, subconscious connection with the brilliant composer than by a calculated methodology.
