Kristupas Bubnelis' Debut Vinyl Album
'Accordatura' is the debut album by New York-based Lithuanian composer Kristupas Bubnelis, presenting two large-scale orchestral works, performed by the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Elias Peter Brown, with Rimvydas Savickas (clarinet) and Andrius Rekašius (percussion).
The album documents Bubnelis’ ongoing exploration of microtonality, resonance, and what he calls a poetics of decay: dramatic interaction and corrosion of sonic objects, transformed temporally and texturally. At the centre of Bubnelis’ practice is a simple but radical proposition. The orchestra is not just an ensemble but an acoustic organism. Its expressive events occur 'between' the pitches – inside beating patterns, unstable partials, interference fields, and subtle shifts. 'Accordatura' makes these thresholds audible and turns them into a dramaturgy.
